Opinion | Forest project in the Amazon becomes a global model

Estadão, one of Brazil’s leading media outlets, publishes an article about the promotion of the Mejuruá Project during an event at the Vatican.

“According to some surveys, there are about 60 forest preservation projects, of which 18% are located in the Amazon region. The shift in Brazilian policy regarding the Amazon, combating illegal activities such as burning, deforestation, and illegal mining on one hand, and on the other, seeking to provide assistance to indigenous communities, favors bioeconomy initiatives aimed at bringing economic and social development to the entire region.”
